History of Unigraph

Unigraph was established in 1966 selling duplicating carbons for use in commercial and professional offices. It quickly developed into selling equipment into both businesses and schools adding overhead projectors and the prestigious range of 3M copiers to its portfolio.

The company continued to sell successfully to businesses, schools and churches in the North and Midlands, and during the 1970s Stephen Hunter (now Managing Director), and Vaughan Williams (recently retired Service Manager) joined the company. Vaughan retired in 2009 after 36 years with the enviable record of NO SICK LEAVE in his whole time at Unigraph. He still does some part-time work for us.

During the 1980s significant local and national contracts were achieved with the Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation, The Churches Purchasing Scheme, Greater London Supplies, Cheshire County Supplies, Essex County Supplies, Kent County Supplies, Fife County Council, Clwyd and Wirral Supplies, Devon County Supplies etc.

Also in the 1980s, Unigraph was one of the first exhibitors at the Christian Resources Exhibition, and is still exhibiting at most of those events now!

In 1982 Stephen Ellis joined the sales department to gain 2 years’ business experience in the middle of a teaching career. Nearly 30 years later Stephen is still here! (now Sales Director).

1984/5 saw the company take over the UK supply of ‘Banda’ products, Banda being the leading name for spirit duplicating.

1988 was also a significant year, when digital duplicating was launched in the UK. Unigraph opted to sell the Roneo Alcatel range, moving within a few years to the Ricoh made machines (originally sold under the Gestetner brand). Unigraph is now the national UK distributor for the Ricoh Priport Duplicating product range.

Through the 1990s the company survived recession due to its strong sales to schools and churches, consolidated its national profile and developed sales to other resellers of reprographic products.

In 2002 an agreement was made with Ricoh UK to establish Unigraph as the UK distributor for Priport duplicating products, recognising the company’s expertise with this specialist product range.

In 2009, Rashid Aziz took over as Service Manager, having joined the company in 1984 at the age of 16 as a trainee!

Today Unigraph enjoys the enviable reputation as the leading supplier of digital duplicating products to thousands of customers throughout the UK and far beyond. Also supplying copiers, colour copiers and network printers, customers range from local schools to large purchasing organisations; from churches to denominational headquarters and large charitable bodies; from local businesses to national and multinational companies.

We look forward to being of service to you.
